Gary Ward graduated from Loughborough University in 1998, fluent in two languages and an economics degree under his belt. In 1999 he did a PGCE at Nottingham University teaching foreign languages at the end of which, he simply decided that he did not want to teach in secondary schools and ran off to France to explore his love of skiing and the mountains.
Taught to fit ski boots and with a weird knack for it, Gary slowly fell in love with anatomy and feet and became recognised for his ski boot fitting skills with people travelling far and wide to get their boots fitted by him in the ski resort of Meribel, France.
This is not an unusual phenomenon for Gary as his clients now regularly fly in from around the world to be "fixed" by his unique therapy skills founded in the realm of movement. A realm which he cottoned on to as a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist and adapted to make his own with the determination of his Flow Motion Model - a whole body gait model. Find out what Gary actually does
Gary is driven by the belief that anything is possible. Where some practitioners write you off, Gary has an open door; behind which he intends to create a safe environment where your body can experience whole and integrated movement so it may re-centre itself. Can healing truly take place in a balanced environment? Do we as practitioners heal our patients? Or do they heal themselves given new choices about how they can really move? If survival is our most innate instinct how can we rule it out as an unconscious decision that the human body makes every second of every day and can we challenge it to "survive better?" Economics would appear to be at the heart of human movement, balancing two sides of a coin, conservation of energy, damage limitation and efficiency of movement… perhaps those years at university weren’t a waste after all.
